Community Information Session

In November 2025, we held the community “Kick Off” of BEDCo. With over 250 attendees, the energy in the room was real. Participants received a full briefing on the background, goals, and road ahead for the organization, were introduced to our planning partners at Derck & Edson, and had the opportunity to ask questions, voice concerns, and lay out their ideas about how to make Barrett even better.
Kick-off Reception

State Senator Rosemary Brown; BEDCo Chair Michael Allegretti; Congressman Rob Bresnahan, Jr.; BEDCo Board Member Karl Weiler
In July 2025, we held the official “Kick Off” of the Barrett Economic Development Corporation (BEDCo)! Thank you to everyone who attended, and to those who could not join us, you were sorely missed; but we know that you were with us in spirit.
Beautification Along Route 390

In June 2025, the entrance to the Barrett Administrative & Recreation Complex (BARC) was transformed. Thanks to support from local landscape professionals and generous donors, the area was refreshed with native plantings and thoughtful design—demonstrating what can happen when residents, workers, and supporters come together.
Business Roundtables: Listening First

In May and August 2025, BEDCo hosted two Business Leaders Roundtables, each attended by over 50 residents and small business owners. The ideas shared were clear: people care about Barrett’s future, and they are ready to get involved, provided they feel heard and respected. Those conversations are now shaping our next steps.

Our Vision
Barrett Township is a place of deep roots, natural beauty, and hard-working residents. It’s also home to those who have chosen this community as a treasured second home or retreat. Our organization exists to bring these groups together in service of a shared vision.
- Homes and storefronts that reflect pride and care
- Opportunities for local businesses to grow and thrive
- Clean, welcoming spaces that invite visitors — and investment
- A community where every resident, long-time or new,
feels connected to a better future
How We Work
Our approach begins with listening. Then we act — with tools and support designed to meet the needs of both residents and the
broader community.
We are developing programs such as:
- Workshops and community seminars
- Volunteer clean-up days
- Matching grant program for commercial properties
- Design & planning for challenging areas
- Support for infrastructure grants
